Jefferson Elementary participated in the SWB Penguins Robo's Readers program again this year. This program is in honor of a former Penguins player, Darcy Robinson, who has passed away. The program was broken down into two sessions. For each the session, the students could earn a free ticket to a hockey game if they read 10 books. This year, Mrs. Stevens' Third Grade Class won both sessions for the classroom that read the most books in the K-3 category. Overall, Jefferson Elementary read the most books in the area.

To recognize their achievement, Scott Stuccio and Tux brought three players to visit Jefferson Elementary. The students were so excited to meet #36 John Curry, #24 Tim Wallace, and #2 Corey Potter. After a school-wide assembly, the students from Mrs. Stevens' class received a pizza party with Scott, Tux, and the players. The students worked so hard and we are very proud of them!
