Amanda Allegrucci is the daughter of Eileen and Carmen Allegrucci. Amanda is an honor student. She is a member of the journalism class and is currently working on the yearbook and the school newspaper, The Trojan Voice. Amanda is also a member of our track team. Her most memorable moment at North Pocono was the first time that she made the honor roll. Thus encouraging her to work hard and maintain honor roll status during her high school career. For employment, Amanda works in the kitchen at Our Lady of Peace. She volunteers doing cake demonstrations for children and others who are interested. Amanda plans on attending the Culinary Institute of America to become an executive chef.

Stephanie Aten is the daughter of Robert and Pamela Aten. Stephanie takes AP classes in English, Calculus, US History and Biology. Stepahnie is ranked 5th in the Class of 2010. Stephanie is drum major of the Marching Band and is a member of Orchestra, the Environmental Club and National History Day. Her most memorable moment at North Pocono was leading the band in the parade at Disney World. For employment, Stephanie works for the U.S. Census Bureau and she volunteers at the Roaring Brook Recycling Center. Stephanie will be attending the University of Scranton to major in Biochemistry and Cell and Molecular Biology. She plans on becoming a doctor.

Tyler Fenstermaker is the son of Robert and Michele Fenstermaker. Tyler is a member of the National Honor Society. He takes AP Chemistry and BC Calculus. Tyler is a member of the marching and concert bands, orchestra, the environmental club, Science Olympiad, Drama and the Historian’s Club. His most memorable moments at North Pocono was when he was in the play “The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe” in his senior year and also the band trip to Disney. Tyler works at Eagle Lake during the summer months and he volunteers at St. Catherine’s. Tyler will attend the University of Scranton to major in biochemistry, cell and molecular biology. He plans on becoming a doctor or primary care physician.

Samantha Rosencranz is the daughter of Michael and Tracy Rosencranz. Samantha takes AP classes in Biology, English, Calculus and Chemistry. She has been a member of the National Honor Society since her sophomore year. Samantha is captain of the Color Guard Squad of which she was a member since her sophomore year. She participated in the Junior Academy of Science for three years. Samantha has enjoyed participating in the marching band and the school play during her senior year. Samantha is employed as a cashier at Bill’s Shoprite and volunteers at the Moscow Library and a local recycling center. Samantha will be attending Marywood University to Major in Biotechnology. She is hoping to pursue a career in pharmaceutical research.

At the PJAS State Competition at Penn State Main Campus, NPHS did exceptionally well. The school took two first place awards, five second place awards and one third place award. All students were well-behaved and did not let the rain on Monday and Tuesday damper their enthusiasm. The winners are:

Reading Competition Winners Print E-mail

On May 4th, two teams from North Pocono High School competed against over 30 teams from area school districts in the annual Reading Competition at Western Wayne High School. Each team receives a list of over 45 books in October from the sponsor of the competition, the NEIU #19. The books are read by team members and then their in-depth knowledge of the books is tested. The two North Pocono teams came in first and third place. The medal and trophy presentation was held last Thursday at North Pocono’s Honors Assembly. The members are to be congratulated for their hard work and dedication.

Butler

Alyssa Butler

Alyssa Butler is the daughter of Wayne Butler and Dawn Kowalyk. Alyssa is a member of the National Honor Society. A high school highlight for Alyssa was when she studied in Europe with the “People to People” organization. Alyssa is a member of the Marching and Concert Band and is a member of Orchestra. She is also member of the Rifle team, Red Cross and Library clubs. Her most memorable moment at North Pocono was when she played in county band, it’s an experience she’ll never forget. Alyssa currently works at That Shake Place in Mt. Cobb. Alyssa plans on attending Penn State University to major in Broadcasting Communications. Her future plans are to become a member of the Blue Band at Penn State.

Cesarini

Christopher Cesarini

Christopher Cesarini is the son of Thomas and Irene Cesarini. Christopher has been in the top 20 of his class and a member of the National Honor Society for his four years at NPHS. He is currently taking AP Physics, AP Chemistry and AP Calculus. Each marking period, Chris has made honors or high honors throughout his high school career. Chris’ most memorable moment at North Pocono was the first day of school at the new high school. Chris works as an outside attendant at the Elmhurst Country Club. Chris volunteered at St. Eulalia’s breakfast for community service for the National Honor Society. Chris will be attending Georgia Tech to pursue a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering and then he would like to attend grad school for either a Masters in Mechanical engineering or automotive engineering. He hopes to someday be employed by a major car company as an engineer.

Frisbie

Ryan Frisbie

Ryan Frisbie is the son of Roger and Ann Frisbie. Ryan is a member of the National Honor Society, takes AP Physics and has maintained honor roll status throughout his high school career. Ryan is a member of Student Council and the Red Cross Club. He is also a member of the baseball and soccer teams. Ryan will always remember playing sports at North Pocono. Ryan is employed at Bill’s Shoprite and volunteers at St. Catherine’s Food Pantry. Ryan plans on attending the University of Pittsburgh and law school.

Morrell

Molly Morrell

Molly Morrell is the daughter of Bill and Cathy Morrell. Molly challenges herself by taking accelerated English and accelerated social studies classes. Molly is a member of the volleyball, basketball and track teams. She is a member of the following committees: prom, student athletics and SADD. Molly’s most memorable moment at NP was when the girl’s volleyball team defeated Dunmore in districts. Molly works at Bill’s Shoprite and the Ice Cream Barn. Molly plans on attending West Chester University to major in Mathematics, thus pursuing a career as a high school teacher.
