Miss Summa's class has been working for three months on a country report presentation. Parents, grandparents, and siblings were invited to the cafeteria to view each student's country display. Many students offered a taste of food, a beverage, artifacts and photo displays of their country. Countries from South America, North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia were on display. So, the class did visit the the WORLD with the exception of Antarctica without leaving Moscow! |

Mr. Stephen McNulty's presentation prepares students for upcoming field trip to Avoca Airport.
This year the fourth grade will be visiting the Avoca Airport for their field trip. In preparation for the trip, Mr. Stephen McNulty, came to NPI and gave a presentation to the fourth grade students. Mr. McNulty is a pilot with over 20 years of experience. He has flown commercial airplanes and currently flies a private jet.
He explained to the students the different functions of the cockpit, how planes use lift to fly, showed them the different maps that pilots use while flying, and described what they should be looking for at the airport. He brought his headset for students to hold and try on, along with different checklists that pilots use.
The students really enjoyed themselves and are excited about their upcoming field trip! |

The students and faculty of NPI would like to thank the PTA for bringing a wonderful assembly to our school. On May 13, 2010, our students and staff enjoyed an entertaining and educational assembly presented by Box of Light. The assembly was entitled "Zap! Electricity." It was a hair raising look at electrons, currents, conductors, and insulators. |

Students in Miss Carlson's class have been learning about electricity. They had the opportunity to work with circuit boards in order to better understand how an electric circuit allows a current through wires to power everyday electrical and electronic systems. Students worked together to create series and parallel circuits. |
