From the Desk of Mr. Hatala …
Dear MEC Families,
Welcome to October! It is hard to believe that we are already in the second month of school. Classroom communities and routines have been established and teaching and learning are well underway. A big thank you to all of our parents, students, and staff for a very smooth opening of our school year.
Parent-Teacher Conferences will begin next month as a follow up to Open House. This is an opportunity to delve deeper into the specific aspects of your child as a learner in the classroom. This is also a time for parents and teachers to collaborate and learn from each other about your child from both school and home perspectives. Moscow Elementary Center proudly recognizes parents, as they are the child’s first teachers, and through cooperation, listening, and working together, our best learning and understanding emerge.
Looking ahead, soon we will be celebrating Halloween. Various costumes and attire will be parading through both our community and school. At the elementary level, we are requesting that parents exercise proper judgement when selecting a costume for your child. We would like to stress that students should be celebrating with a non-violent theme. All costumes that require weapons such as swords, knives, sickles, guns, etc. will not be permitted.
On Friday, October 30, students will participate in a Halloween Parade. Additional information will be forthcoming from your child’s teacher.
In closing, Moscow Elementary Center is a great place because of the combined efforts of both the school and the family. I look forward to another year of your support and engagement in your child’s learning.
