Mark Caputo, son of Christina and Christopher Caputo, takes on the STEM gauntlet of AP classes, including AP Chemistry, AP Physics II, AP Calculus BC, and AP Computer Science Principles, along with taking a class outside his schedule, Micro/Macroeconomics. He has consistently earned high honors throughout high school, and will have completed 15 AP courses by graduation. He is a captain of the Cross Country team and the Mock Trial team, as well as president of the Mathletes Club, and he serves as a mathematics and hard sciences tutor and mentor in the district. Post-graduation, Mark plans on going to college for mechanical or theoretical physics at CIT, the University of Chicago, or the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Catherine Clancy is the daughter of Chris and Alysia Clancy. By graduation, she will have completed 11 AP courses. Catherine has made high honors every quarter of high school and is currently ranked fourth in her class. She is a member of the Science Olympiad team, Cross Country team, is active in National Honor Society and Mini-Thon and is the president of SADD and Interact Club. Catherine is also an active member in Saint Eulalia’s Parish where she taught First Grade religious education and serves as a lector and altar server. She also volunteers with ARC Angels Onstage, a theatre outreach program based out of Scranton for adults with mental disabilities. In Girl Scouts, Catherine earned her Bronze and Silver Awards. Over the summer, Catherine attended the Pennsylvania Governor’s School for the Sciences at Carnegie Mellon University where she completed college level math and science course and performed a group research project focusing on the superconductivity of the Yttrium Barium Copper Oxide compound. Catherine works as a lifeguard at Lake Hideaway in Moscow. After graduation, she plans to attend college to study science and public policy.
Ashley Santaniello is the daughter of Mark and Keli Santaniello. She is a member of the National Honor Society and has achieved high honors throughout her entire high school career. Ashley will graduate with a total of 11 AP courses and is currently ranked 2nd in her class. She has been a member of the Varsity Football Cheerleading team for 4 years and proudly serves as a captain this year. Along with cheering, Ashley is also a member of the girls’ Varsity Lacrosse team. Ashley is an active member of other clubs such as mock trial, mathletes, Mini-THON, student council (as a representative for 4 consecutive years), Prom Committee, and SADD. Outside of school, Ashley involves herself in musical theatre with Act Out Theatre Group, performing and even choreographing various shows. She has studied at Ballet Theatre of Scranton’s school of dance for the past 12 years, engaging in all types of dance: ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, and modern. Ashley also plays musical instruments such as the piano and ukulele and enjoys singing. During her musical career, she attended Carnegie Hall twice for voice and piano and sang for the recording of The Happy Elf. Ashley has enjoyed tutoring math and more recently tutoring for the SATs. She has also enjoyed her summers as a counselor at Camp St. Andrew, a girls’ resident camp in Tunkhannock. Ashley is currently employed at Tasty Swirl. Over the summer, she shadowed under podiatrist Dr. Lana Grzybicki. Other family and friend podiatrists have inspired Ashley. After graduation, she plans to attend college, majoring in biology, and then go on to Temple’s School of Podiatric Medicine.
