The North Pocono School District was notified of two positive cases involving students within the same family of coronavirus (COVID-19) at the Moscow Elementary Center. The students last attended school on Friday, November 20. There is no need for quarantining in this scenario. The district was informed of a staff member at NPI that is presumed positive as well. Those needing quarantine at this time have been notified. Also, the district was informed of a staff member at Jefferson Elementary School that has tested positive. Those needing quarantine at this time have been notified. We are awaiting further guidance on this case. Out of respect for the individuals involved and in accordance with privacy laws, we can’t divulge any further information than what has been presented. This topic and other agenda items will be discussed at the monthly meeting of the North Pocono Board of Education tonight at 7:00 at North Pocono High School or virtually via the link posted on the district website (http://url.npsd.org/boardlivestream). Parents/Guardians and students are encouraged to do the following to help prevent the spread of illness at home and in school:
Please keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the following signs or symptoms: fever (100.4 F or greater), cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, lack of smell or taste, sore throat, chills, muscle pain, headache, congestion, or runny nose. The North Pocono School District will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates as needed. Please know the health and safety of our students and staff is our utmost priority. |
