The NEIU #19, 2012 Special Olympics was held on Tuesday, May 1, 2012. The event began with the students marching in a parade and displaying their school spirit with banners. The students participated in the following events: 50 meter wheel chair race, 50 meter, 100 meter and 200 meter run, softball throw and standing long jump. Each of the students participated in 2 events in their age group. First, second and third place ribbons were given out to the students at the end of each competition. Everyone was a winner!

A special “Thank You” to the North Pocono Administration and Aramark for providing hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, celery, carrots and juice boxes to all the athletes, their families and the staff that made this day so special.
