Junior Academy of Science Students Look Sharp at State Competition

Sixteen middle school students made their way to Penn State University (Main Campus) recently to participate at the state level of the Pennsylvania Junior Academy of Science competition. Of the sixteen students who made the trip, seven came home with first place awards and nine returned with second place finishes. One of the first place finishers, Jacob Ostrowski, not only finished in first place, but he did so with a perfect score.

Finishing in second place were Brendan Betti, Jake Bittenbender, Madison Blumer, Elizabeth Caccavano, Gabrielle Gentile, Deen Haleem, Matthew Kelly, Matthew Smith, and Marina Topa.

First place winners were Desarae Balish, Douglas Balish, Vincenzo Cicco, Matthew Kravitz, Matthew McDonough, Jacob Ostrowski, and John Pantuso.
