Shown above are the food court and mechanical rooms.

Construction on the new high school continues and is on schedule for the September 2009 opening. Some of the most apparent signs of progress can be seen in four areas. The roof is being applied over the food court and the mechanical room areas. The concrete masonry façade has been applied to the south and east side of the building. The third area of progress can be seen at the soccer field which should be seeded by the end of next week. Grading for the baseball and softball field will begin before the end of the month. Finally, interior partition walls for the upper level are being constructed with most of the classrooms' partitions of the lower levels completed.

The new school building will allow the district to offer students a better educational environment that is more conducive to learning. One of several improvements for the district is the increase of square footage dedicated for the music department. The current high school has one choral room, and one band room and limited storage area. The new high school will have a large band room, large choral room, music lab, music library, three rooms for small group instruction, two classrooms for music instruction, and several areas for instrument and uniform storage.
