Buildings & Grounds
The Office of Buildings and Grounds is led by Mr. Richard Motichka. Mr. Motichka is a 1989 graduate of North Pocono High School, after which he continued his studies at Penn State University. Having worked in construction, mechanical, leadership, and emergency services roles, Mr. Motichka brings a wealth of knowledge to his position as director. In addition to his role at North Pocono, he currently serves our community as Chief of the Elmhurst-Roaring Brook Volunteer Fire Company.
Buildings and Grounds is responsible for the maintenance, testing, repair, and compliance of all systems, structures, and facilities within the physical plant. In addition to ensuring the integrity and cleanliness of all district buildings, the office is responsible for a huge array of district property management, amongst which are public water systems, electrical systems, plumbing and sanitary systems, HVAC systems, athletic fields and facilities, traffic control systems, refrigeration systems, vehicle maintenance and repair, parking area maintenance and repair, public address systems, drainage systems, snow removal, groundskeeping, lighting systems, fire alarm and suppression systems, asbestos management, pest control, security systems, energy management, and chemical storage/management.
