Technology
The Technology Department is led by Mr. William (Chip) DeWolfe, Technology Coordinator. Mr. DeWolfe holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education English from the University of Scranton and a PDE Instructional Technology certificate from Marywood University. In addition to having taught middle and high school English, he has over 20 years of experience in leading school district technology departments, serving as North Pocono's department leader since 2005. With only six employees, the technology department manages all aspects of administrative and instructional technology in the district, which makes it responsible for the operation of over 5,000 devices and the support of over 3,500 users. Specifically, the department is responsible for:
- Selection, requisition, installation, configuration, management, troubleshooting, and repair of:
- Computers
- Servers
- Software
- Peripherals (scanners, printers, copiers, webcams, document cameras, monitors, large-scale displays, etc.)
- Network switches, routers, filters, intrusion detectors, controllers, and wireless access points
- Uninterruptable power supplies
- Phones
- Clocks
- Security cameras
- Public address system interfaces
- Network/data security
- Network cabling
- Database administration
- Reporting and data exchange
- End-user technical support
- Long-range technology plan development and execution
- Equipment inventory and tracking
